Cypress Mountain Ski Resort is located on Vancouver's North Shore just 30 minutes from the city centre.
Cypress Mountain was one of the Olympic venues for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Skiers and snow boarders can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city of Vancouver from Mount Strachan. From its summit at 4,785 feet (1,450 meters), there is a panoramic view of the lower mainland, Washington State and and the Coast Mountain Range.
There are numerous ski runs at Cypress Mountain.
Green runs such as the Panorama run or Collins run are excellent for new skiers. The Horizon run, has some challenging terrain that is more appropriate for intermediate skiers and snow boarders. Black diamond runs are also available at the mountain.
Cypress Mountain is open each evening until 10 PM for most of the ski season. There is nothing better to do than escaping city life for the mountains!
If you are visiting Vancouver on business, Cypress is just a 45 minute drive from the central Vancouver business district. Ski equipment can be rented at the lodge.
